Pacific AETC – Hawai‘i & US-Affiliated Pacific Islands (Pacific AETC – HIAPI) is based in Honolulu and serves the state of Hawai‘i, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands.
We strive to expand the number and ability of HIV care professionals and organizations throughout Hawai‘i and the US-Affiliated Pacific to provide high-quality HIV-related services with a person-centered approach. We collaborate with healthcare and community service professionals across the HIV care continuum to provide comprehensive care and treatment for individuals living with HIV, as well as those at risk of acquiring HIV. Our work also includes the prevention, identification, and management of HIV-related comorbidities and other complex health conditions.
Through direct, on-site training, as well as distance learning methods, the Pacific AETC – HIAPI bridges the enormous distances of the region to strengthen HIV clinical care, testing, and prevention efforts.
Our Mission
HIAPI’s mission is to improve HIV knowledge and awareness among providers, healthcare workers, and communities while advancing understanding of the social drivers that contribute to HIV-related disparities. Through accessible education, community engagement, and collaborative action, we work to positively impact the lives of people living with or affected by HIV and promote equitable health outcomes for all.
