Dr. Maile Karris is an Associate Professor in the Divisions of Infectious Diseases and Geriatrics at UCSD. Her clinical practice focuses on the care of people living with HIV and actively incorporates principles of geriatrics. Dr. Karris’ research addresses clinical and translational questions at the intersection of aging with HIV, for example improving the management of chronic pain in older adults with HIV, and evaluating the clinical impact of loneliness and social isolation.
