The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) is seeking an HIV-experienced physician to join its dedicated multidisciplinary team. For nearly 30 years, the HRSA-funded NCCC has provided free, immediate, state-of-the-art HIV, hepatitis, and substance use consultation and guidance to U.S. health care providers via its: 

  • HIV/AIDS Management Consultation Service (HIV Warmline) 
  • Perinatal HIV Consultation and Referral Service 
  • Hepatitis C Consultation Service (Hepatitis C Warmline) 
  • Substance Use Management (Substance Use Warmline) 
  • Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PEPline) 
  • Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PrEPline) 

The NCCC has an immediate position available for a Clinician Consultant who will answer incoming calls on the PEPline, PrEPline, HIV and Hepatitis C Warmlines and ensure timely delivery of expert consultation. Consultation topics include: 

  • Medical management of persons living with HIV: screening/testing, antiretroviral selection and treatment strategies, resistance testing, drug interactions and toxicity, primary care and chronic disease management, opportunistic infections, and prevention of HIV transmission 
  • Medical management of persons with hepatitis C: screening/testing, staging, treatment selection and strategies, drug interactions and toxicity, post-treatment surveillance, and prevention of HCV transmission 
  • Pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis: eligibility, baseline and follow-up evaluation, medication management 

Applicants should have a solid understanding of HIV care systems and primary care delivery including safety net practices. This position is able to work remotely. 

Job Requirements: 

  • MD or DO degree with valid license/ Board Certification in Family Medicine, Infectious Disease or Internal Medicine with experience diagnosing and managing HIV and related conditions and prior experience in providing clinical advice; and 
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit
