Save the Date: Clinical Update on Syphilis and Congenital Syphilis

This event is hosted by the CA Prevention Training Center and the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center – Bay Area, North & Central Coast.

Date and time:

February 17, 2022, from 12:15-1:30pm & 1:30-2:30pm PST

Purpose:

The purpose of this event is to provide a clinical update on syphilis and congenital syphilis to health care teams. The first hour will discuss syphilis and the second hour will address congenital syphilis.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe California’s syphilis and congenital syphilis epidemiology
  • Recognize clinical manifestations of syphilis and congenital syphilis
  • Discuss the importance of screening in specific patient populations
  • Discuss diagnosis, evaluation and management
  • Report all laboratory-confirmed and clinically-suspected cases to public health
