Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center - Los Angeles Area
The Pacific AETC – Los Angeles Area (Pacific AETC – LAA) is a collaboration among the following institutions, administered through UCLA:
- David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA
- Keck School of Medicine of USC
- Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science
Mission: Through locally based, multidisciplinary tailored education, clinical training and technical assistance to healthcare providers and organizations in Los Angeles, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Inyo Counties, and the U.S./Mexico border region in Arizona and California, the Pacific AETC – Los Angeles Area seeks to integrate high quality, comprehensive, patient-centered and person-focused HIV care. Pacific AETC – Los Angeles Area aims to improve health outcomes, especially in marginalized and disenfranchised communities, including, but not limited to people with mental illness and substance use disorders, homeless or unstably housed, recently incarcerated, LGBTQ+, immigrants, and communities of color.

- HIV Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Practice (IPP): A collaboration between the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Administration (VA) Psychiatry Residency Training Program, the USC School of Pharmacy, the Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, To Help Everyone Clinic (T.H.E.), Northeast Valley Health Corporation, St. John’s Well Child and Family Center, and LAC + USC Rand Schrader Clinic.

- Pacific AETC – E-Learning Portal: A free, 508 compliant, HIV online learning site offering CEs to RNs, LCSWs, and MFTs. A free PrEP toolkit is available on the home page.
- Fellowship in HIV Medicine (2-year program)
- Implementation of HIV/HCV/Syphilis Opt-out Screening and Rapid ART in Emergency Departments, Clinics, and Correctional Settings
