Remembering Dr. Wilber Jordan

Posted April 21, 2023

It is with great sadness we share that Dr. Wilbert Jordan, Founder and Director of the Oasis Clinic at Charles Drew University/Martin Luther King Medical Center passed away earlier this week. Dr. Jordan was a passionate clinician, researcher, and true champion in the fight against the HIV epidemic from the onset. His commitment to social justice was unwavering and his constant drive to end HIV stigma, racism and homophobia locally, nationally and internationally have cemented his legacy. We are grateful for his work for many years with the Pacific AETC-Los Angeles Area and his passion for educating, mentoring and inspiring the HIV healthcare community to continue in this essential work. All of us who knew him also acknowledge the influence he has had on advancing health equity in HIV care, especially communities of color, and will greatly miss his presence. Below is information on a memorial service that will be held Friday, April 28th.
