Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center - San Diego & Imperial
Pacific AETC – San Diego & Imperial (Pacific AETC – SDI) is housed at University of California San Diego Health Owen Clinic, the largest multi-disciplinary HIV clinic in San Diego County. A variety of training programs are available to health care providers, teams, and organizations in the counties of San Diego and Imperial. We offer programs to increase the capacity and capability to identify people at risk for acquiring HIV, and to care for people with HIV. Our programs include:
- Interactive or case-based trainings for novice to experienced HIV providers and non-clinicians. Common topics include HIV 101, PEP vs. PrEP, Clinical Management of Newly Diagnosed, HIV Testing, and Introduction to Antiretroviral Therapy
- HIV Mini-Residency Program for health care providers to observe HIV care delivery at Owen Clinic
- Clinical consultation via in-person, e-mail, and/or phone to discuss HIV-related cases with HIV experts
- Technical assistance/coaching to develop policy and procedures and/or to implement HIV-related programs such as routine HIV testing and PrEP
