Pacific AETC’s 2024 Recap

Posted December 20, 2024

PAETC logo transparentAs we look back on this year, we are reminded of the collective efforts that define progress in HIV care and prevention. This year brought opportunities to develop new initiatives, amplify voices, and provide resources to support healthcare providers and the communities they support. We’re sharing highlights of key programs, materials, and recorded trainings from the past year to support our collective efforts.

Black Men’s HIV Leadership Capacity Building Initiative

The Black Men’s HIV Leadership Capacity Building Initiative is fostering a community focused on enhancing leadership skills and supporting the professional development of Black men within the HIV and sexual health workforce. Launched with a three-part series, the initiative explored the past, present, and future of leadership in HIV service delivery systems. The collective provided a supportive and inclusive environment where Black men and their supporters explored themes related to identity and presence, professional power, and radical imagination of leadership in the field. Archived recordings of the series are available for those who wish to watch.

California Rural Health Provider Toolkit

In response to a request from the California Department of Public Health Office of AIDS, Pacific AETC has collected a list of on-demand training, toolkits, guides, and other healthcare resources that support existing and new HIV service providers in these communities.

In addition to these resources, Pacific AETC’s network of Local Partners offers real-time training, technical assistance, clinical preceptorships, and other capacity-building services for new and non-HIV providers looking to expand their practice to include HIV services.

PrEP Ready! CoP logoPrEP Ready! Community of Practice Archives

PrEP Ready! Community of Practice is a peer-to-peer EHE learning community to strengthen equitable PrEP programming at FQHCs in the Pacific Region. Sessions are created to help to enhance the various aspects required to offer successful PrEP delivery services with a health equity lens.  While PrEP Ready! CoP sessions are only open to FQHCs in EHE jurisdictions in the Pacific Region, we believe all healthcare organizations offering PrEP can find the materials developed useful.

Provider Resources

We continued to update and expand our library of resources to meet the evolving needs of healthcare teams. This includes the HIV Essentials and Quick Clinical Guides, tools for increasing PrEP uptake in BIPOC communities, and organizational worksheets from the PrEP Ready! Community of Practice.

As we reflect on this past year, we remain committed to building a more equitable future in HIV care and prevention. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue supporting the incredible work of providers across the region.

Thank you for making 2024 a year of impact and progress. On behalf of all of us at Pacific AETC, we wish you a very happy and healthy 2025!
