Upcoming Learning Collaborative: Care and Wellbeing Center – Building Peer Programs: Culture, Belonging, and Boundaries, April 30th

Posted April 15, 2024

Join the Care and Wellbeing Center’s next free, virtual Learning Collaborative titled “Building Peer Programs: Culture, Belonging, and Boundaries.” This session will take place Tuesday, April 30th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Pacific Time.

Peer programming is an effective strategy to serve people aging with HIV. Peers provide a special mental and emotional connection to the work and have first-hand, shared experience with the people they serve. How do we build, sustain, and grow successful peer support programs? What are some organizational policies and practices we can implement to value lived experience in the hiring and training process? Join this virtual learning collaborative to learn the answers and more!

After this session attendees should be able to:

  • Understand the value of lived experience in direct service provision.
  • Identify practices in the workplace that promote belonging for people with lived experience.
  • Describe considerations and support strategies for including people’s lived experience in service provision or leadership.
