Posted January 9, 2023SPECIAL WEBINAR!
The Urgency of Addressing the California TB Epidemic
Thursday, January 12, 2023
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Featured speaker: Julie Higashi, MD, PhD
Former President and Current Executive Committee Member, California TB Controllers Association
Tuberculosis is a serious epidemic that causes needless suffering and death. More than two million Californians have Latent TB Infection (LTBI). Most are not aware, placing them at significant risk for becoming sick with TB disease.
Like many devastating epidemics, TB has a disproportionate impact on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and immigrant communities. Providing TB prevention and care services has been particularly difficult during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Join the Coalition for a TB-free California for a special call to learn about urgent actions needed to address, prevent and eliminate the threat of TB in 2023 and what you can do to help.
Who should participate:
- Organizations and providers serving BIPOC and immigrant communities
- TB advocates and survivors
