HIV Learning Network

The Pacific AETC’s HIV Learning Network (HIVLN) is a free, longitudinal telehealth HIV training and consultation program for HIV clinical care teams and individual clinicians in Pacific Region. HIVLN provides bimonthly live, virtual sessions on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month from 12:00-1:00 pm Pacific Time. All sessions are CME accredited.

The goal of the program is to provide is to develop an informed community of interdisciplinary HIV clinical care teams to provide high quality HIV and HIV-related care, and improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable people with HIV who are residing in historically low-resourced and underserved communities in the region. While we aim to expand the HIV workforce within the Pacific region, the sessions are open to providers across the US.

What We Do:

  • Connect community providers with HIV experts in the region to strengthen the HIV care system
  • Provide ongoing learning opportunities to build capacity, expand knowledge, and explore useful resources.
  • Disseminate and discuss the newest evidence-based guidelines and treatment advances in HIV care
  • Share challenging cases among a diverse community of peer providers with written recommendations of clinical approaches to care from HIVLN faculty.

Audience
While the focus of our sessions is often clinical, HIVLN encourages participation from HIV care teams made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, dentists. social workers, case managers, mental health workers, health educators, medical assistants, navigators, outreach workers and other care team members working together to improve health outcomes for people vulnerable to or with HIV.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Accreditation

The HIV Learning Network offers free CME’s for participants attending sessions. Requesting CME for HIVLN sessions is optional. All participants who registered, attended, and completed an evaluation for a session have access to view/save/print their CME certificates from our event tracking system.

To set up an account, click on “My Account” in the upper right hand corner of this screen. Click on “Create New Account” and complete the account set up. Once complete, you’ll be able to sign in at any time, search for upcoming events, register, complete evaluations, and print CME certificates.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center. The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education to physicians.

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses may receive continuing education credit for this educational activity as the ANCC accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through its reciprocity agreement.

Many boards accept AMA credit as acceptable continuing education units. Participants should check with their individual licensing boards as to the acceptability of AMA credit.
