The National Alliance for HIV Education and Workforce Development presents the next two sessions in there webinar series Bridging HIV & SUD: Innovations in the Field.

  • Substance Use Disorders and Oral Health occurring on Thursday, January 4, at 1 pm ET. Presented by Samantha Rawlins-Pilgrim, MD, MSc, and Tara Prasad, DM, the speakers will discuss substance use disorders, HIV, and their oral health implications as encountered in their practice at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.   • HIV, Harm Reduction, and Youth Engagement occurring on Friday, February 2, at 12 pm ET. Presented by Mike Selick, MSW, this training will provide an updated lens on the current state of HIV and substance use in the United States. We will discuss rates of HIV amongst people who use drugs (PWUD) and what unique factors impact health outcomes for them. Guidelines for prevention and meaningful engagement surrounding risk reduction for PWUD will be discussed as well as a focus on engaging youth who are living with HIV and youth engaging in substance use.
