From HIV.gov:

Note: Please track the current weather updates about the hurricane/tropical storm and visit USCHA for updates on the conference.

The White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) and HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) have initiated the process to develop the next National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS), which will cover 2026-2030. Concurrently, OIDP will also develop the next iterations of the STI National Strategic PlanViral Hepatitis National Strategic Plan, and Vaccines National Strategic Plan. The current NHAS spans 2022-2025 and each of the three national strategic plans also continues through 2025.

While federal, state, and community partners continue to implement the current editions of those plans, ONAP and OIDP are gathering public input to inform the next iterations. HIV community members and other partners are invited to share their ideas at an in-person listening session on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA) in New Orleans, Louisiana. The session will be held from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the conference hotel in the Strand 12 meeting room on level 2.

USCHA participants are encouraged to join this session to share their ideas, recommendations, and feedback on:

  • What is working well with any of these national strategic plans?
  • What additions or changes should be considered to further accelerate progress toward their goals in the subsequent editions of these strategic plans?
  • How could these strategic plans be better integrated with each other to strengthen syndemic approaches?

Ideas, lived experiences, and input on other topics are also welcome.

Follow HIV.gov for future opportunities to provide input on the development of the next National HIV/AIDS Strategy and national strategic plans for STIs, viral hepatitis, and vaccines. Additional in-person, virtual, and hybrid listening sessions and other opportunities for input are planned, including a Request for Information that will soon be published in the Federal Register soliciting written comments.
