National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (October 15, 2023)
Posted October 12, 2023October 15th is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). Pacific AETC offers resources to learn more about the impact of HIV/AIDS on the Latinx population in the United States.
From NLAAD
October 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a community mobilization that for 20 years has promoted effective ways to prevent, treat, and stop the spread of HIV among Latinos.
This year’s focus is on the various ways people can protect themselves from HIV. Whether it’s a pill a day (PrEP), an injection every 2 months (long-acting PrEP), a condom every time they have sex, or a mix (condom + a form of PrEP), what’s important to know is that now people have more choices to continue having fun while enjoying peace of mind. As the theme of this year’s campaign says: “Do it your Way. Do it Right.”
