Comorbidities in Persons With HIV: The Lingering Challenge (Journal of the American Medical Association): This article outlines some of the health challenges people with HIV in the US will encounter as they age, even though they may be virally suppressed. People with HIV have a disproportionate risk of various comorbidities like cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, osteopenia, osteoporosis, hepatic disease, and cancer, as well as a significant burden of neurocognitive disorders. The article urges consideration for addressing the medical and financial challenges of managing comorbidities in people who are already living with HIV, while collectively working to end the HIV epidemic. Article
