The Case for Behavior Health Screenings in HIV Care Settings, a new FREE publication from the SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions, examines how HIV care providers can implement behavioral health screenings. As individuals diagnosed with HIV are living longer, HIV treatment providers should be prepared to address a broad range of health concerns. There is a strong connection between HIV and behavioral health (mental health and addictions). People with HIV are more likely than the general population to have a mental illness or addiction, and vice versa.
