This interactive training curriculum, from Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center with the University of California Los Angeles and Charles R. Drew University Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center offers HIV providers from all disciplines an overview of medical marijuana, the prevalence of its use among individuals living with HIV, and strategies on how to work with HIV patients who are using medical marijuana. The curriculum emphasizes the use of decisional balance and feedback sandwich in discussing the reduction of potentially harmful medical marijuana use, as well as exploring additional options and strategies to achieve symptom relief. In addition to didactic information, the curriculum makes available ARS (audience response system) questions as well as optional group activities/role plays throughout the presentation.
