Having coped with a lifetime of discrimination and stigma, many LGBT older adults face unique barriers to accessing sensitive and effective health care and services. This webinar will familiarize participants with the major clinical and psychosocial issues facing LGBT older adults, and will recommend ways that health centers and other health care agencies can provide culturally sensitive care in an inclusive environment to aging LGBT patients. The webinar will be led by Mark Simone-Skidmore, MD, Director, Geriatrics Education, Division of Aging, and Assistant Program Director, Harvard Geriatrics Fellowship, Brigham and Women’s Hospital; Instructor, Harvard Medical School. This webinar is the first in a three-part series on LGBT aging co-sponsored by the National LGBT Health Education Center and SAGE. The series is supported by HRSA with a grant to Fenway Community Health Center.
