Letter From HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau on ACA to Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program GranteesPosted: December 16th, 2013 By: Michelle Kipper
Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Grantees,
The promise of quality, affordable coverage is increasingly becoming reality for more and more Americans. Despite the technical challenges with Healthcare.gov, as of November 2nd more than half a million Americans have enrolled in coverage through a Qualified Health Plan, Medicaid, or CHIP.
With Healthcare.gov functioning better every day and multiple ways to sign up, now is the time to encourage your patients and community members to enroll and take advantage of health coverage beginning in the New Year.
For those who enroll by December 23, 2013, coverage begins January 1, 2014. Otherwise individuals have until March 31, 2014 to sign up for coverage in the open enrollment period. To save time, consumers can prepare for enrollment by going through the Marketplace Application Checklist so they have the information they’ll need to apply for coverage.
Please remind your patients and community members of the four ways to apply for coverage through the Marketplace:
- Online: HealthCare.gov
- By Phone: 1-800-318-2596 (TTY:1-855-889-4325)
- In-Person: With a trained assister in your community. Find help at LocalHelp.HealthCare.gov
- By Mail: Download the application form and instructions from HealthCare.gov
